Born in 1973 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, he graduated as Master in Geology in 1996 at Saint Petersburg State University. Since 1998 he lives in Madrid were he defended his PhD Thesis in Geology in Madrid Polytechnic University in 2004, dedicated to the study of emerald deposits in the Ural Mountains.
Since 2000 he works in Spanish Gemological Institute (IGE) http://www.ige.org, combining it with teaching Geology at the Spanish Distance Learning University (UNED) during the period of 2004-2010.
Faceting gemstones, especially Spanish gem sphalerites, and collecting rare gems and gems with rare inclusions is his passion and free-time activity. Author of the web site http://gem-sphalerite.com
