==Step 2: Installing necessary programs==

Programs required:

Programs required:
*[http://www.gemcad.com/windownload.html Gemcad]
+
*[http://www.gemcad.com/windownload.html GemCAD]
*[http://www.primopdf.com/ PrimoPDF] (or any other pdf creating program)
+
*[http://www.gemcad.com/gemray.html GemRay] OR a digital camera
*Adobe Photoshop
+
*[http://www.primopdf.com/ PrimoPDF] OR [http://www.nitroreader.com/ Nitro Reader] OR any other .PDF-creating program.
 +
*Adobe Photoshop OR the website [http://pdf2jpg.net/ PDF 2 JPG].
 +

 +
These programs will be used to prepare your design. GemCAD is required to create the design itself. PrimoPDF or Nitro Reader are required to "print" your design as a .PDF file. Adobe Photoshop or the website are used to convert that .PDF file into a .JPG file. GemRay is used to create a simulated rendering of your design, while digital cameras are used to take pictures of your test cuts.
 +

 +
All of this will be explained in Step 3. Before proceeding to Step 3, please ensure that all required programs are installed and correctly functioning. Please note that this tutorial assumes that you are already skilled at using GemCAD, and have already created a design you wish to post.

You can stop here. An editor will see that you have added the files and will create a design page for you. Alternatively you can take it all the way and create a design page yourself. Below will follow a tutorial on how to do it.

==Creating a design page==
+
==Step 4: Creating your authorship section in the Gemology Project (do this only once ever)==

Wiki pages are relatively easy to create when a similar page already exists. One simply has to copy the code and change the content. With this in mind we have created a template. This template allows you to create a design page in a few minutes.
+
Now that you've prepared your design, it's time to get your name onto the Gemology Project as a registered design author! The following steps will create a subsection in the Gemology Project where you can post your designs as you write them.

===Step by Step===
+
'''(See text box and images below instructions)'''

#Open the gemology project in two more browsers (3 in total). Have this page sitting in one and start the next step in the second.
+
#Use the first grey box for reference.
#Create a new page by entering the page title in the searchbox in the left menu. Use the author and design name as title. Example: 'Tolkowsky Standard Round Brilliant' or 'Hunt My Morning Glory'. '''Start with the Author's last name!'''
+
#Copy the text in the grey box below these instructions.
 +
#Go to the [http://www.gemologyproject.com/wiki/index.php?title=Faceting_Designs Gemology Online Faceting Diagram] page.
 +
#Use the first image for reference.
 +
#At the top bar, at the ''red arrow'', click on the 'edit' button.
 +
#Use the second image for reference.
 +
#Scroll to the far bottom of this page, and find the author listed last, at the ''green arrow''.
 +
#Leave 3 line breaks after the last author (hit 'Enter' three times).
 +
#Paste the text that you copied, at the ''blue brackets''.
 +
#At the ''purple circle'', replace the phrase YOUR NAME HERE with your first and last name.
 +
#At the very bottom of the page, at the ''red arrow'' hit the 'Save Page' button.

The search result will say: no page with this exact title exists. Click on the 'this exact title' link and you will arrive at an editing page where you can create this page.
+
<pre>
 +
{|border=8 width=100%
 +
|align="center" width="25%"|'''YOUR NAME HERE'''
 +
|width="25%"|<center>[[File:Placeholder.jpg|center|thumb|link=|[[(Placeholder)]]]]</center>
 +

 +
|width="25%"|<center>[[File:Placeholder.jpg|center|thumb|link=|[[(Placeholder)]]]]</center>

 +
</pre>

#In this editing box you paste the following text:

----
+
[[File:Step 4 Image 1.jpg|left|200px]]
 +
[[File:Step 4 Image 2.jpg|left|200px]]
 +

<nowiki>==</nowiki>'''replace this text by the Design's name and Author's name'''<nowiki>==</nowiki>

<nowiki>You can comment on this design by clicking on the discussion tab above.</nowiki>

 +
==Step 5: Creating a page for one of your designs==

<nowiki>Click on this link to download the gemcad file: [[</nowiki>'''place the .gem file page title here'''<nowiki>]]</nowiki>
+
Now that we've created your authorship section, we can start adding individual designs. Unfortunately, you have to add designs one by one.

<nowiki>[[</nowiki>'''place the .jpg file page title here'''<nowiki>|center|800px]]</nowiki>
+
===Part A: Adding your design to the design home page===

<nowiki>[[Category:Designs by Author]]</nowiki>
+
'''(See text box and images below instructions)'''
----

We are now going to change the bold printed bit of text with the proper coding.
+
#Use the first grey box for reference.
# '''replace this text by the Design's name and Author's name''' Here you fill in the title of the design and your name leaving the <nowiki>== ==</nowiki> in place on both sides of the title. Example: 'Standard Round Brilliant by Tolkowsky'
+
#Copy ALL OF the text in the first grey box below these instructions.
# '''place the .gem file page title here''' During the uploading process, explained in the first part of this tutorial, you have parked the .gem file at a page of it's own. To retrieve the page title we now use the third browser to go to the 'recent changes' page which can be found by clicking on the 'recent changes' link in the left menu. Here you will find a list of all the changes made over the last few days. Two of those changes are your uploading activities. Click on the .gem file page link.
+
#Go to the [http://www.gemologyproject.com/wiki/index.php?title=Faceting_Designs Gemology Online Faceting Diagram] page.
#Select the page title and copy it:
+
#Use the first image for reference.
 +
#At the top bar, at the ''red arrow'', click on the 'edit' button.
 +
#Use the second image for reference
 +
#Scroll to the far bottom of this page, and find where the ''purple circle'' has YOUR last name in it.
 +
#Use the second image AND the second grey box for reference.
 +
#At the ''blue bracket'', you should see multiple lines of code that look like the content of the second grey box below.
 +
#Find the topmost line in YOUR section that looks like this. (The ''yellow box''.) Highlight this entire line.
 +
#Now, paste the stuff you copied from the first grey box in this section, overwriting the old stuff you had just highlighted.
 +
#Every place you see the phrase DESIGN NAME, replace that with the name of your design.
 +
#Every place you see the phrase AUTHOR LAST NAME, replace that with your last name.
 +
#Please make absolutely sure that you spell your design name the same every time.
 +
#At the very bottom of the page, at the ''red arrow'' hit the 'Save Page' button.
 +
#Clicking 'Save Page' will take you back to the [http://www.gemologyproject.com/wiki/index.php?title=Faceting_Designs Gemology Online Faceting Diagram] page.

Substitute the '''place the .gem file page title here'''  text with the title you just copied.
+
<pre>
#Do the same with the .jpg file: go to the recent changes page in your third browser, click on the uploaded jpg version and select the title. Replace '''place the .jpg file page title here''' with the title of the jpg page.
+
|width="25%"|<center>[[File:DESIGN NAME (render).JPG|center|thumb|link=AUTHOR LAST NAME - DESIGN NAME|[[AUTHOR LAST NAME - DESIGN NAME]]]]</center>
#hit the 'show preview button' to check whether the page comes up the way it is supposed to. The editing box remains accessible at the bottom of the preview. If something doesn't come up properly compare the text of your page with the text given above in between the two lines. There may be a bracket missing or a vertical stripe may have been deleted in the process.
+
</pre>

All we have to do now is assigning 2 more categories to the page so it can be found when people search by RI or shape. This we do by choosing the correct categories from the following options:
+
<pre>
 +

===Part B: Adding your rendering===
 +

 +
Here, we're going to add a thumbnail to the main page, so that people can just glance through quickly and see a brief image of what these designs might look like when cut.
 +

 +
'''(See text box and images below instructions)'''
 +

 +
#Now that you're back at the [http://www.gemologyproject.com/wiki/index.php?title=Faceting_Designs Gemology Online Faceting Diagram] page, find the thumbnail you just made.
 +
#Use the first image for reference.
 +
#At the ''yellow box'', click on the link that says 'File:DESIGN NAME (render).JPG'.
 +
#Use the second image for reference.
 +
#At the ''red arrow'', click 'Browse...', and find the rendering .JPG file you made with GemRay. Click 'OK'.
 +
#At the ''yellow arrow'', the phrase DESIGN_NAME should be automatically replaced with your design name.
 +
#If it isn't, change it.
 +
#Use the second image AND the first grey box for reference.
 +
#Copy the contents of the first grey box, and paste it into the ''green box''.
 +
#Replace the phrase DESIGN NAME with your design name, and AUTHOR FULL NAME with your full name.
 +
#Replace MONTH AND YEAR with the month and year you wrote the design. For example, November 2012.
 +
#For DESCRIPTION OF DIAGRAM, describe the diagram. Is it a CAM, OMNI, or barion? What is its outline shape?
 +
#For TYPE OF MATERIAL, what material did you write the design for? For example, pale aquamarine, or dark garnet, etc.
 +
#At the ''blue arrow'', click 'Upload file'.
 +
#Clicking 'Upload file' will take you back to the [http://www.gemologyproject.com/wiki/index.php?title=Faceting_Designs Gemology Online Faceting Diagram] page.

<nowiki>[[Category:RI = 1.81 - 1.90]]</nowiki>
+
In this section, we're going to set up the actual diagram page itself, as well as the ability to search for your page. There will be a bunch of lines of code that refer to the L/W ratio, RI, etc. Make sure to set these correctly, so that people can search for designs by those values!

<nowiki>[[Category:RI = 1.91 - 2.00]]</nowiki>

'''(See text box and images below instructions)'''

<nowiki>[[Category:RI = 2.01 and up]]</nowiki>

+
#You should have been taken to an editing page for your design.
 +
#Use the first grey box for reference.
 +
#Copy the contents of the first grey box, and post them into the editing page for your design. Yes, it's a LOT of crap.
 +
#Replace AUTHOR LAST NAME with your last name, and DESIGN NAME with your design name.
 +
#For the lines of code that begin with Category:RI, delete all lines that contain an RI that your design is windowed in.
 +
#For example, if you wrote your design for sapphire, but it works in materials from spinel to rutile with no angle changes, remove the lines for 1.50-1.60 and 1.61-1.70.
 +
#For the design shapes, remove all shapes that do not apply to your design. Multiple shapes may apply.
 +
#For the L/W ratio, index gear, and number of facets, remove all lines of code that do not apply to your design.
 +
#Now, click "Save Page", which will take you back to your design page. Use the second image for reference.

<br clear="all" />
At the upload page you are asked to fill in two fields:

# The source. Click on the button indicated by the red arrow saying 'bladeren' (dutch for 'browse')

#select the jpg file and click 'open'

#Now fill in the summary field. Here you can add text that will accompany your image.

#Once you are done click 'upload file'

You will arrive at the image page. Copy its title and place the the following code in your comment: <nowiki>[[image page title|left|500px]]</nowiki>

You can play with the positioning of the image by replacing 'left' by 'right' or 'center'. The image size can be changed by replacing the 500 by a larger or smaller number. The maximum size is 800px.
+
===Part E: Writing some comments===
 +

 +
The last step is to write some comments that talk about how you designed this pattern (or how you arrived at this design), as well as comments about the light return/reflection pattern, and any special care that needs to be taken during the cutting process.
 +

 +
#From the design home page, click on the thumbnail for your design.
 +
#On the design page, immediately to the left of the 'edit' tab, is the 'discussion' tab.
 +
#Click that, and write three paragraphs.
 +
#The first should be about how you wrote the design, especially the thought processes behind it. This helps newbies when they write their first designs.
 +
#The second should describe the light return, reflection patterns, tilt windowing, etc. Please include the range of RIs that your pattern can be successfully cut in.
 +
#The third should describe any particular issues with cutting. Do you frost facets? Are some facets absurdly fast cutting? Are there angles close to each other?

Revision as of 02:43, 22 January 2013

This page will guide you through the required actions to post a design on the Gemology Project.

Step 1: Create an account & log in

To post designs to the Gemology Project, you need to first create an account. You can do this by filling in a request through the contact page. Your request will be processed as quickly as possible, but please allow us some time to do so. Normally, you should be able to access your account within 48 hours. You will receive an e-mail containing your user name and password from one of the administrators.

Once you have received your log-in details, you can proceed to the log in page. A link to this page is provided in the top right of your screen (Internet Explorer 8.0 requires the compatibility mode to be enabled). After you log in, you will have access to the "Edit Page" function, which is necessary to begin posting designs.

Step 2: Installing necessary programs

Programs required:

These programs will be used to prepare your design. GemCAD is required to create the design itself. PrimoPDF or Nitro Reader are required to "print" your design as a .PDF file. Adobe Photoshop or the website are used to convert that .PDF file into a .JPG file. GemRay is used to create a simulated rendering of your design, while digital cameras are used to take pictures of your test cuts.

All of this will be explained in Step 3. Before proceeding to Step 3, please ensure that all required programs are installed and correctly functioning. Please note that this tutorial assumes that you are already skilled at using GemCAD, and have already created a design you wish to post.

Step 3: Step-by-step preparation of your design

Part A: Convert the .GEM file into a .PDF

Using PrimoPDF (See images below instructions.)

  1. Open your design in GemCAD.
  2. Click 'File' and then 'Print'.
  3. Select 'PrimoPDF' as your printer, and click 'OK'.
  4. After a few seconds, PrimoPDF will pop up.
  5. You should now see something similar to the first screen shown below these instructions.
  6. At the red arrow, click on the '...' button.
  7. Now, select a file destination where your new .PDF file will be created, and click 'OK'.
  8. At the blue arrow, click 'Create PDF'.
  9. You now have the design in .PDF format, in a folder of your choice.

Designhelp.jpg

Using Nitro Reader (See images below instructions.)

  1. Open your design in GemCAD.
  2. Click 'File' and then 'Print'.
  3. Select 'Nitro PDF Creator' as your printer, and click 'OK'.
  4. After a few seconds, Nitro PDF Creator will pop up. It may be hidden behind the GemCAD window.
  5. Browse to the folder in which you would like to save your .PDF file.
  6. Enter your desired filename and click 'OK'.
  7. You now have the design in .PDF format, in a folder of your choice.

Step 3A Image 1.jpg

Part B: Turning the .PDF file into a .JPG file of reduced size

Using Adobe Photoshop

  1. Open the .PDF file in Adobe Photoshop.
  2. Click on 'Image'.
  3. Click on 'Image Size'.
  4. Reduce the image size to 800 pixels in width.
  5. Save the file as a .JPG in your designated folder.
  6. Note: if the file is over 150kb in size, repeat this process, adjusting the quality to 9 or 8.
  7. You have now created an uploadable image.

Using PDF 2 JPG, followed by Microsoft Office Picture Manager (Windows 7 only) (See images below instructions)

  1. Go to PDF 2 JPG.
  2. Use the first image for reference.
  3. At the blue arrrow, click on the down arrow and then click on 'Excellent - 300dpi'.
  4. At the red arrow, click 'Browse...', then browse to the .PDF file you wish to convert, then click 'Open'.
  5. At the green arrow, click the 'Convert PDF to JPG' button.
  6. Use the second image for reference.
  7. At the red arrow, click 'Download', and save the file to your desired destination.
  8. You have now saved your .JPG file, but still need to reduce its size.
  9. Find the .JPG file you have just created, by using the built-in Windows search.
  10. Use the third image for reference.
  11. Right-click on the .JPG file, select 'Open With', and choose 'Microsoft Office Picture Manager'.
  12. Use the fourth image for reference.
  13. Go to 'Picture' in the top task bar, and select 'Resize...'.
  14. Use the fifth image for reference.
  15. Under 'Custom width x height', at the red arrow, enter the values given.
  16. Click 'OK', then save the file. Your .JPG file is now done.

  6. At the red arrow, click here, browse to your desired file destination, and save your rendering.

Step 3C Image 1.jpg
Step 3C Image 2.jpg

Step 4: Creating your authorship section in the Gemology Project (do this only once ever)

Now that you've prepared your design, it's time to get your name onto the Gemology Project as a registered design author! The following steps will create a subsection in the Gemology Project where you can post your designs as you write them.

(See text box and images below instructions)

  1. Use the first grey box for reference.
  2. Copy the text in the grey box below these instructions.
  3. Go to the Gemology Online Faceting Diagram page.
  4. Use the first image for reference.
  5. At the top bar, at the red arrow, click on the 'edit' button.
  6. Use the second image for reference.
  7. Scroll to the far bottom of this page, and find the author listed last, at the green arrow.
  8. Leave 3 line breaks after the last author (hit 'Enter' three times).
  9. Paste the text that you copied, at the blue brackets.
  10. At the purple circle, replace the phrase YOUR NAME HERE with your first and last name.
  11. At the very bottom of the page, at the red arrow hit the 'Save Page' button.
{|border=8 width=100%
|align="center" width="25%"|'''YOUR NAME HERE'''
|width="25%"|<center>[[File:Placeholder.jpg|center|thumb|link=|[[(Placeholder)]]]]</center>
|width="25%"|<center>[[File:Placeholder.jpg|center|thumb|link=|[[(Placeholder)]]]]</center>
|width="25%"|<center>[[File:Placeholder.jpg|center|thumb|link=|[[(Placeholder)]]]]</center>
|}

Step 4 Image 1.jpg
Step 4 Image 2.jpg

Step 5: Creating a page for one of your designs

Now that we've created your authorship section, we can start adding individual designs. Unfortunately, you have to add designs one by one.

Part A: Adding your design to the design home page

(See text box and images below instructions)

  1. Use the first grey box for reference.
  2. Copy ALL OF the text in the first grey box below these instructions.
  3. Go to the Gemology Online Faceting Diagram page.
  4. Use the first image for reference.
  5. At the top bar, at the red arrow, click on the 'edit' button.
  6. Use the second image for reference
  7. Scroll to the far bottom of this page, and find where the purple circle has YOUR last name in it.
  8. Use the second image AND the second grey box for reference.
  9. At the blue bracket, you should see multiple lines of code that look like the content of the second grey box below.
  10. Find the topmost line in YOUR section that looks like this. (The yellow box.) Highlight this entire line.
  11. Now, paste the stuff you copied from the first grey box in this section, overwriting the old stuff you had just highlighted.
  12. Every place you see the phrase DESIGN NAME, replace that with the name of your design.
  13. Every place you see the phrase AUTHOR LAST NAME, replace that with your last name.
  14. Please make absolutely sure that you spell your design name the same every time.
  15. At the very bottom of the page, at the red arrow hit the 'Save Page' button.
  16. Clicking 'Save Page' will take you back to the Gemology Online Faceting Diagram page.

|width="25%"|<center>[[File:DESIGN NAME (render).JPG|center|thumb|link=AUTHOR LAST NAME - DESIGN NAME|[[AUTHOR LAST NAME - DESIGN NAME]]]]</center>
|width="25%"|<center>[[File:Placeholder.jpg|center|thumb|link=|[[(Placeholder)]]]]</center>

Step 4 Image 1.jpg
Step 4 Image 2.jpg

Part B: Adding your rendering

Here, we're going to add a thumbnail to the main page, so that people can just glance through quickly and see a brief image of what these designs might look like when cut.

(See text box and images below instructions)

  1. Now that you're back at the Gemology Online Faceting Diagram page, find the thumbnail you just made.
  2. Use the first image for reference.
  3. At the yellow box, click on the link that says 'File:DESIGN NAME (render).JPG'.
  4. Use the second image for reference.
  5. At the red arrow, click 'Browse...', and find the rendering .JPG file you made with GemRay. Click 'OK'.
  6. At the yellow arrow, the phrase DESIGN_NAME should be automatically replaced with your design name.
  7. If it isn't, change it.
  8. Use the second image AND the first grey box for reference.
  9. Copy the contents of the first grey box, and paste it into the green box.
  10. Replace the phrase DESIGN NAME with your design name, and AUTHOR FULL NAME with your full name.
  11. Replace MONTH AND YEAR with the month and year you wrote the design. For example, November 2012.
  12. For DESCRIPTION OF DIAGRAM, describe the diagram. Is it a CAM, OMNI, or barion? What is its outline shape?
  13. For TYPE OF MATERIAL, what material did you write the design for? For example, pale aquamarine, or dark garnet, etc.
  14. At the blue arrow, click 'Upload file'.
  15. Clicking 'Upload file' will take you back to the Gemology Online Faceting Diagram page.

'''"DESIGN NAME"'''

by AUTHOR FULL NAME (MONTH AND YEAR)

DESCRIPTION OF DIAGRAM, for TYPE OF MATERIAL

Step 6 Image 1.jpg
Step 5 Image 2.jpg

Part C: Setting up the actual diagram page

In this section, we're going to set up the actual diagram page itself, as well as the ability to search for your page. There will be a bunch of lines of code that refer to the L/W ratio, RI, etc. Make sure to set these correctly, so that people can search for designs by those values!

(See text box and images below instructions)

  1. Now that you're back at the design home page, click on the thumbnail of the rendering you just uploaded.
  2. Use the first image for reference.
  3. You should have been taken to an editing page for your design.
  4. Use the first grey box for reference.
  5. Copy the contents of the first grey box, and post them into the editing page for your design. Yes, it's a LOT of crap.
  6. Replace AUTHOR LAST NAME with your last name, and DESIGN NAME with your design name.
  7. For the lines of code that begin with Category:RI, delete all lines that contain an RI that your design is windowed in.
  8. For example, if you wrote your design for sapphire, but it works in materials from spinel to rutile with no angle changes, remove the lines for 1.50-1.60 and 1.61-1.70.
  9. For the design shapes, remove all shapes that do not apply to your design. Multiple shapes may apply.
  10. For the L/W ratio, index gear, and number of facets, remove all lines of code that do not apply to your design.
  11. Now, click "Save Page", which will take you back to your design page. Use the second image for reference.

Step 5C Image 2.jpg

Part D: Uploading your remaining files

Now we just need to put up the .GEM, .PDF, and .JPG files for the design itself!

(See text box and images below instructions)

  1. Use the first image for reference.
  2. Click on the link that the red arrow is pointing to.
  3. This takes us back to that standard upload page. Upload your .GEM file.
  4. In the section where you can type file comments, copy your comments from your rendering and paste them here.
  5. Click 'Upload file'. This will take us back to the previous page.
  6. Now, use the green arrow, and this time upload the .PDF file.
  7. Finally, use the blue circle, and this time upload the .JPG file (the diagram, NOT the render!).
  8. Your design page is now done! One more thing to do though...

Step 5C Image 2.jpg

Part E: Writing some comments

The last step is to write some comments that talk about how you designed this pattern (or how you arrived at this design), as well as comments about the light return/reflection pattern, and any special care that needs to be taken during the cutting process.

  1. From the design home page, click on the thumbnail for your design.
  2. On the design page, immediately to the left of the 'edit' tab, is the 'discussion' tab.
  3. Click that, and write three paragraphs.
  4. The first should be about how you wrote the design, especially the thought processes behind it. This helps newbies when they write their first designs.
  5. The second should describe the light return, reflection patterns, tilt windowing, etc. Please include the range of RIs that your pattern can be successfully cut in.
  6. The third should describe any particular issues with cutting. Do you frost facets? Are some facets absurdly fast cutting? Are there angles close to each other?

Step 6: Adding test cuts and more placeholders

Part A: Taking a picture of your cut stone (if you've done a test cut)

For a tutorial on this, please see the forums. If you have already taken a picture of your stone, please resize it to a square, centered on the stone, similar to the other pictures already uploaded.

Part B: Adding the test cut thumbnail

  1. Go to the faceting pattern home page, and click the 'edit' button.
  2. Scroll down to your section, and find the line of code that represents the design you have successfully test-cut.

If you HAVE a picture of the test-cut

  1. Your line of code for this design should look like the contents of the first grey box.
  2. After the last bit of that code, copy and paste the contents of the second grey box.
  3. Format as normal, and upload the thumbnail just like you did with the first thumbnail.
|width="25%"|<center>[[File:DESIGN NAME (render).JPG|center|thumb|link=AUTHOR LAST NAME - DESIGN NAME|[[AUTHOR LAST NAME - DESIGN NAME]]]]</center>
<center>[[File:DESIGN NAME (test cut).jpg|center|thumb|link=File:DESIGN NAME (test cut).jpg|[[Test Cut - Click to Enlarge]]]]</center>

If you DO NOT have a picture of the test-cut

  1. Your line of code for this design should look like the contents of the first grey box.
  2. After the last bit of that code, copy and paste the contents of the second grey box.
  3. This will let people know that you had a successful test cut, but have not yet added its picture.
|width="25%"|<center>[[File:DESIGN NAME (render).JPG|center|thumb|link=AUTHOR LAST NAME - DESIGN NAME|[[AUTHOR LAST NAME - DESIGN NAME]]]]</center>
<center>[[File:STILL WAITING.jpg|center|thumb|link=File:Epoch (test cut).jpg|[[Test Cut - Click to Enlarge]]]]</center>

Part C: Adding more placeholder space

If you fill up an entire row in the design page, congratulations! You'll need to add a new one now.

  1. Your last lines of code should look kinda like the first grey box.
  2. Now, copy and paste so that it now looks like the second grey box.
