This shield cut weighs 4.40 carats. When this color of tourmaline started coming out of Mozambique no one knew that it contained copper or that it would heat to a bright blue green paraiba like color. It was just a great color and an excellent addition to my growing tourmaline rainbow of color. I got a hold of as much of it as I could. This gem has an excellent medium tone, on top of its lavender color and clean crystal. It will never be heated by my hands. And by the way, it didn't take my spectrometer to tell me that this tourmaline is cuprian.
