Cedar - Marco Voltolini

Rendering simulating aquamarine
Test cut in prasiolite quartz, 9.80 ct.

This is my version of a barion checkerboard pear. Being a barion, the resulting stone will be rather deep, but it will be very bright and lively. For the same reason it would be probably better to cut this design in light colored materials.

This design is not too difficult to cut, but it is extremely important to reach a precise centerpoint cutting the first tier. This will provide a correct L/W and all the following facets will meet properly. Assuming a correct pavilion, the crown will cut straightforwardly, some slight adjustments may be required in cutting the L tier to get perfect meets. Please note that the L tier will not meet the girdle (it will be slightly short).
