This round standard brilliant weighs 3.85 carats. This gem is a great example of two colors of similar tone interacting to make a parti colored tourmaline. The blue is an artifice of the photograph. The yellow is a color creation that comes from mixing green and red together. The best way to tell what you really have in color, in a stone like this, is to turn it over and put it on a white surface. This way you will see the colors with less mixing. Then turn it over to face you and enjoy the feast of mixing colors. This clean interesting tourmaline probably came from Nigeria.
