This traditional emerald cut weighs 2.79 carats. This tourmaline arrived special delivery from Africa as a purple from a new find. I was a little disappointed by the brownish a/b axis, but the shape of the rough gave me few options to get a good yield so the a/b color, became the center of the gemstone. The c axis color came threw, nice and spicy, so I had a nice different tourmaline for my collection. When Mavuco, cuprian tourmaline and purple came together a short time later, I thought that this tourmaline might be cuprian. My spectrometer showed me that is not blessed with copper, but the tangy fruity c axis color still tastes good.
